The Beehive is Back

While feeling energetic one morning I decided to vacuum my living room. Little did I know the fiasco that was headed my way. I started to vacuum near a large window by a cherry tree we have and noticed a rather unusually large amount of bee's flying around the tree. I thought nothing of it and kept cleaning. On my second sweep by I noticed a black mass in the tree and on closer inspection noticed a beehive in the tree. I was a little concerned, #1 we have a black lab in the back yard, and #2 Shiggers is allergic to bee's. (For those of you new to this blog, I call my husband Shiggers).
I made a few phone calls and got a hold of this cute little man who offered to come and get rid of the bee's for me for free. He is a bee keeper. The mass you see of bee's in the pictures is entirely bee's. There is no hive in there. I was under the impression they were building something in there. He used a long hose and sucked them up inside. He was darling, his name was Jess. He offered to let me carry the bee's to his truck, but I kindly turned him down, and told him I would carry the vacuum instead. I feel pleased that my cherry bee's are now making honey instead of living in my backyard. They were making me very nervous.

I was having a very hard time teaching piano that day. My students were more interested in the bee's than they were in their lessons. But you can't really blame them. It's not everyday you get to see a beehive, it is hard to tell from the pictures but it was about the size of a basketball and was very loud.

Interesting fact

I am LDS, I have been all my life. I think one of the prerequisites for the church is a deep love for Jell-0. There are Jell-o jigglers, the very infamous lime green jell-o and carrot salad. The very popular and interesting jell-o molds. Frog eye salad, and at any church functions the never ending line of jell-o salads. It is if we are almost trying to outdo ourselves with our jell-o capabilities.

I think we need to put a stop to this, I would love to see more green salads, pasta, fruit, I am here to tell you once and for all that there are people in this world that HATE jell-o and I am one of them. It always seems to be the first thing they want to serve you after surgery, I tell them I want to get out of the hospital not stay longer. So for all you jell-o lover's out there, please take time to consider there are a few of us that do not like eating collagen with is the structural protein found throughout the bodies of animals. A little of this, a little of that

I am not sure where to begin, I guess I will start with the biggest news. I am going back to school. I know what you are thinking......she's crazy, she's lost her mind, at her age? It is something I have always wanted to do but never had the courage to try. I am not getting any younger and the brain cells are just getting older. I am going to study Nutrition Science and hope to decide in a year what to do with it. I am thinking right now that I will settle on becoming a Nutritionist. Shig is a little worried, he keeps asking me if I am going to make him eat healthy.

Grandma J. had a small stroke, she is doing great for a feisty 90 year old, I can only hope to be doing as well as her at her age she spent about 2 weeks in the hospital and is home again with the help of a walker. Dad had a small setback with his cancer, he had to have some surgery on his cheek but he is also home again and we hope he can now regain his strength. He has decided to discontinue chemo, and has undergone two weeks of radiation. We are hopeful his eyesight will get better. Mom found out she has cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetes, she is feeling a little overwhelmed but all in all is her cheerful happy self. I will be heading home for a visit for around two weeks to help out and just to make myself feel better.

I am also starting a new blog, I love to cook and decided that I would start a blog full of my favorite recipe's. I almost have it ready to go so I hope you will all check it out when it is up and running.

I colored my hair and I am very excited to visit my sister-in-law so she can fix it. So Kristin's advice for the day, don't color your own hair unless you know what you are doing, because it can turn out copper.
