A Reason to Craft

I love my calling. I get to work with the 4 year olds in Primary. Last week our lesson was, "I am a Child of God." I was searching the Internet for some lesson helps and stumbled on this cute idea on sugardoodle.com. I am lucky enough to have a handy husband who loves to work with wood. He was willing to cut out the wood blocks for me. I did the initial sanding. We painted them and then added the names and the lettering over top that says, I am a Child of God. I think they turned out great. The kids loved them. The lesson went great.
It turned out to be Ward Conference and I had a Stake visitor in my class. The kids behaved very well. The only problem is, they are convinced they lived in Florida before they were born. I think this will be the focus of our lesson for the next couple of weeks.

I told Shane I could also think of a few nieces and nephews that needed these. We will see what happens.

A day with Grandma J.

We decided to go down and spend an afternoon with Grandma J. while we were in Idaho. She is still fun and spunky at 90. Makaila was willing to bring her guitar and play and sing for her. We heard some Christmas songs and a few John Denver tunes. I think Grandma was hoping for "Delilah" by the Oak Ridge Boys, but Makaila just can't go quite that low. I still think she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.
Makaila decided to show Grandma how to play the guitar. Grandma has a little trouble seeing these days. I miss not living as close as we use to. She is a true blue Grandma, she thinks all her grandkids and great grandkids are amazing and can do no wrong. I absolutely love her and think she can do no wrong.

We made it!

After many road closures through Wyoming, a very impatient Kristin wanting all her Christmas decorations down before they left. We finally made it. With little help from my new GPS (whom I affectionately refer to as Gert.) We arrived at Shane's parents around 9:00 and settled in for a very cold night.
The next day we were treated to a guitar solo by Makaila and Milo even joined in on his harmonica, a couple games of pool later we headed to Rexburg for a court of honor, it was a clear and beautiful night in the Teton Valley the Tetons were beautiful. The only problem was it was freezing.

Rob who?

Yes ladies who would want Robert Pattinson when they could look at that face and hear that voice. Michael Bub-le as I like to say is still coming to town. The problem is Christmas came faster. I guess I have to look at it this way. I have Martin Luther King day to look forward to. Then we have the all important Birthday of yours truly, then President's day. My baby girl's 15th birthday and then of course Saint Patrick's Day. I think it will come much faster if I look forward to each individual holiday. Oh and I did leave out the ever important Sunday of Sunday's the Super Bowl.

It is still as of today 64 days and counting..........

Resolution's

When being asked last year what my New Year's resolutions was going to be, it didn't take long for me to answer. I have thought long and hard about mine for several month's.

Let's be honest, I have tried exercise, dieting, being kind to truckers and people who drive to slow and trying to quit eating chocolate and 100% Visiting Teaching and have failed at all of them. So I have tried something I think I can do. I am going to follow in the footsteps of someone I admire greatly, my Savior and my Mom. I am going to do more service.

I saw this picture on a blog I follow and was deeply touched at what I saw. We all have moments similar to this, we feel we are alone when no one is around or cares, but their is still one person at our side watching over us and helping us through our deepest, darkest hour.

I am so grateful to those who have helped me get through all those times when I didn't think their was a light at the end of the tunnel. You have helped me more than I will ever be able to repay.

I know Christ lives....May you all have a wonderful and spontaneous New Year!

The picture is called "Gethsemane" and is by "Adam Abram"
